Baruch Hashem (untitled poem)
If I were to lose everything tomorrow
Perhaps victim of hatred and evil and my distance from You.
Up I would drag myself from the depths of despair
Tear-filled eyes searching for You.
Prone, broken-boned and weak; I will reach a crawl.
Crawling, ragged breath and determined; I will reach a limp.
Limping, strained, but hopeful; I will try to stand tall.
Walking, steady and again joyful; I will reach You.
And standing beside you is everything I love and loved
And all the love I could ever need.
